I agree, Getter Robo is amazing and Ken Ishikawa is truly one of the mangaka greats

Couldn't agree more! My love of Getter truly blossomed trough the manga: while I loved Shin/Armageddon, the manga had such a scope, variety of themes and a whilwinf of actions and events that I couldn't stop reading it! I suggest to everyone to read the Shin Getter Robo manga: while you need knowledge of previus events, it's so full of badassery and really haunting moments that it's an absolute must read. For example, it has the episode that ispired the famous battle Shing Getter Robo Vs Invader Getter Robo G (the ova literally lifted some angles from the manga). The diffference is that in the manga

it's Getter 1 vs Getter G. And too me it's even more badass because the team manages to shine using an older and less powerful Getter by their sheer pilot prowess and badassery! Just too cool!
